Learning Objectives:
Gain an insight into the lived experience of a 16th sailor and how it differs from their own
Understand the complexity of life a sea and realise the ship as a floating community
Develop an understanding of how history, science and mathematics can work together to give us a clearer picture of the past

KS3-4 History

  • Know and understand the history of these islands as a coherent, chronological narrative, from the earliest times to the present day: how people‚Äôs lives have shaped this nation and how Britain has influenced and been influenced by the wider world
  • Understand historical concepts such as continuity and change, cause and consequence, similarity, difference and significance, and use them to make connections, draw contrasts, analyse trends, frame historically-valid questions and create their own structured accounts, including written narratives and analyses
  • The development of Church, state and society in Britain 1509-1745

KS3 Mathematics

  • Select appropriate concepts, methods and techniques to apply to unfamiliar and non-routine problems
