Welcome to The Golden Hinde! To ensure a safe and smooth experience for all our visitors, please review the following terms and conditions before your booking or visit. These terms are grouped by the type of booking: General Admission, Group Bookings, Public Night Voyages, and general Safety on the Ship.

1. General Admission

Booking & Payment

  • When purchasing General Admission tickets via our booking system (Fareharbor), full payment is required at the time of booking.

Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations made less than 30 days before the scheduled booking are non-refundable.
  • Cancellations made more than 30 days in advance of the scheduled booking will result in the retention of the non-refundable 50% deposit, with the remainder of the balance refunded.
  • If payment has not yet been received, we reserve the right to charge the 50% non-refundable deposit in the event of cancellation.
  • If cancellation is due to unforeseen circumstances beyond your control, we will do our best to reschedule your booking to an alternative date. If no suitable date can be arranged, we will retain the deposit to cover our costs and refund any remaining payment.

 

2. Group Bookings

 

Booking and Payment

  • A non-refundable 50% deposit is required within 14 days of making your booking.
  • If you’re unable to confirm final numbers at the time of booking, the deposit will be calculated based on the minimum required group size (where applicable).
  • The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to your visit.
  • Your booking is not secure until the deposit is received. Golden Hinde Limited reserves the right to cancel your booking if payment terms are not met.

Payment Methods

  • BACS (preferred) - Use your name/school/organisation and invoice number as reference.

  • Cheque - Make payable to Golden Hinde Limited, include the Payment Advice Slip from your invoice, and post to:

Changes to Your Booking

  • You must notify us in writing at least 30 days before your visit if the number of attendees changes.
  • Within 30 days, we can add additional attendees and raise a new invoice, but we cannot offer refunds for any cancellations.
  • Changes may incur an admin fee of £20.
  • Minimum group charges apply depending on the programme. For queries, contact info@goldenhinde.co.uk.

3. Children's Parties

Booking and Payment

  • A 50% deposit is required within 14 days of booking to secure your party date. The remainder is due no later than 30 days prior to the event.
  • We will also charge a £150 security deposit, which is held separately and fully refundable after the event provided the ship is vacated on time and no excessive cleaning or damage is required.

Security Deposit Terms

  • The security deposit will be retained in full if your group does not vacate the ship by the scheduled end time.
  • This policy reflects the operational impact and staffing costs associated with extended time on site.
  • Partial deductions may be made from the security deposit for:
    • Excessive cleaning (e.g. abandoned decorations, food waste, spills).
    • Minor damage to the ship or its contents.
  • Security deposits will be processed for return (if applicable) within 7 working days of your event.

Arrival and Departure

  • Party groups may arrive no more than 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
  • All guests must vacate the ship promptly at the end of the booked session, which includes time for cake and farewells.
  • Session extensions are not available on the day, and late departures may affect other bookings.

Guests and Supervision

  • Each child is allowed one accompanying adult, with two adults allowed for the birthday child.
  • There must be a minimum of one adult for every three children present.
  • Children under one year are not charged but must be supervised at all times.
  • Please advise us in advance if you expect a higher number of adults or younger siblings.

Food and Drink

  • The Pirate Feast for children is included in the package. Additional food for children and adults (e.g. Pirate Cakes, Adult Feasts, and drinks) can be ordered at least 7 days in advance.
  • You may bring your own birthday cake, subject to advance agreement. Candles must be used outside on the Main Deck only - open flames are not permitted indoors.

Decorations and Setup

  • The ship is already decorated for parties. You are welcome to bring additional decorations, but setup must be done during the party while children are engaged with the entertainer.
  • Decorations must be removed by the end of your session. Anything left behind may incur a cleaning charge.

Cancellations and Refunds

  • Cancellations made 30 days or more in advance of your party will receive a refund minus the 50% deposit.
  • Cancellations less than 30 days before the party are non-refundable.
  • If cancellation is due to unforeseen circumstances, we will attempt to reschedule your booking. If rescheduling is not possible, we will retain the deposit and refund the balance.
  • If Golden Hinde Limited cancels your booking, you will receive a full refund.

Allergies and Accessibility

  • We can accommodate common dietary restrictions with advance notice.
  • Please be aware that all food (whether prepared by us or brought externally) may be prepared in environments that handle nuts and other allergens.
  • If any children have severe allergies, we recommend they bring their own food. This must be arranged in advance.

4. Public Night Voyages

Booking and Payment

  • When purchasing Public Night Voyage tickets via our booking system (Fareharbor), full payment is required at the time of booking.

5. Safety on the Ship

Your safety is our priority. Please review the safety guidelines below and ensure all members of your group are aware of them.

  • All children must be supervised at all times by accompanying adults.
  • Teachers and group leaders are responsible for the safety and behaviour of students.
  • Golden Hinde Limited is not liable for any injuries, except where caused by negligence on the part of our staff.
  • We recommend all school groups carry out their own risk assessments, especially for participants with additional needs.

Ship Rules (explained on the day of your visit):

  • Always ascend/descend stairs facing them (as you would a ladder).
  • Mind your head on the gun deck - it’s very low!
  • No running anywhere on the ship.
  • Do not climb or pull on any ropes.
  • Decks may be slippery when wet - please take extra care.
  • Maximum of 6 people on the gangway at one time.
  • Children must be closely supervised at all times.
