May Half-Term - Cures, Cloves & Curious Remedies
Saturday 23 May – Sunday 31 May 2026
11am | 12pm | 2pm | 3pm
Step aboard The Golden Hinde this May half-term for a lively, story-led journey into the world of Tudor medicine.
Led by the ship’s Botanist, this interactive talk invites you into the atmospheric hold to explore how sailors stayed healthy at sea. Discover the herbs, spices and “curious” remedies used to treat illness and injury, alongside the practical realities of life on long voyages.
Blending storytelling with hands-on moments, this engaging experience is perfect for families, curious minds, and anyone interested in the surprising history of medicine at sea.
Please note: this is a talk-based experience, not a potion-making workshop.
