Museum Late: Survival at Sea

9 July 2026 | From 6:00pm

As evening falls over the Thames, visitors are invited to experience the ship in a different light through a relaxed programme of talks, activities, and after-hours exploration aboard London’s iconic Tudor galleon.

Throughout the evening, discover the practical challenges faced by sailors undertaking long-distance voyages during the age of exploration. From storms and navigation to food, water, illness and isolation, Survival at Sea will examine what it truly took to endure life at sea in the Tudor world.

The evening will include a series of short talks, informal interpretation, and opportunities to explore the ship after hours, alongside atmospheric deckside drinks from the Hinde Bar.

Our Museum Lates are part of an evolving evening programme aboard The Golden Hinde - keep an eye out for more talks and after-hours events throughout the year, including our final Museum Late of 2026:

Thursday 17 September

Whether you’re fascinated by maritime survival, historic exploration, or simply looking for a unique evening in London, our Museum Late offers history, atmosphere and conversation aboard one of the capital’s most distinctive heritage spaces.
