Double Bill: Lovell & The Violet Hum

THE VIOLET HUM is an indie-alternative musical chameleon which at its core evolves around the songwriting and performances of multi-instramentalist and producer Matt Arthur (The Coo, The Arthur Brothers). Their music has echoes of 'The Bends' era Radiohead, the drama of Peter Gabriel, and the clear and haunting vocals of Neil Young and Kate Bush.

The band's EP 'How To Swim' is with us this March 2022. The record is a dense, melodic, and atmospheric journey from the depths of an unforgiving ocean to the sunlit warmth of a golden beach that resonates with hope and fear in equal measure.

LOVELL is singer-songwriter and guitarist Hannah Lovell, with Kid Kirby on drums, backing vocals and clarinet.
They describe themselves as 'minimalist lo-fi indie punk folk with cool acoustic grooves, and witty but with weird songs about sleazy dreams and domestic chores'.
"Witty and wise, exquisite storytelling with a raw bluntness that is hard to forget."
"Really unique, amazing! We are inside the dark labyrinthine nature of your mind."
"Excellent guitar work, great songs!"
"You can literally drift away on that voice..."
"Marianne Faithful meets Sylvia Plath meets Baby from Dirty Dancing"
"Definitely not your run of the mill singer-songwriter"
Tickets on the door £10.

Doors and bar open at 19:00 for the concert, music at 19:30.
