Kris Dollimore performs Sirkus Live Aboard The Golden Hinde
Sunday 9 August 2026
Doors 7:30pm | Music from 8pm
Step aboard The Golden Hinde for an intimate evening of ambient acoustic guitar music with Sirkus Post, the solo instrumental project of guitarist Kris Dollimore.
Performed in alternative tunings and inspired by the American Primitive fingerstyle tradition pioneered by John Fahey, Sirkus Post blends intricate acoustic composition with a deeply reflective and immersive atmosphere. The project explores contemporary interpretations of solo guitar music through open tunings including CGCGCE and its variants, creating richly resonant soundscapes within the historic surroundings of the ship's Hold.
Drawing from the debut release Sirkus Post: Alternative Tunings, Vol. 1, the performance focuses on direct musical expression and audience connection - stripped back, contemplative, and entirely acoustic.
Presented as a relaxed ambient set aboard one of London's most atmospheric venues, this is a rare opportunity to experience intimate live instrumental music within the timbered surroundings of The Golden Hinde.

The project focuses on solo acoustic guitar music performed in alternative tunings, drawing inspiration from the American Primitive finger-style tradition pioneered by John Fahey. This work reflects a long-standing artistic ambition to explore that style in a contemporary, personal way.
The debut release, Sirkus Post: Alternative Tunings, Vol. 1, centres on variations of C-based tunings, including CGCGCE and its variants. The broader aim is to develop a series of recordings, each dedicated to a specific guitar tuning.
Live performances are presented as relaxed, ambient acoustic sets, featuring solo instrumental pieces performed without embellishment - focusing on direct musical expression and audience connection. 100% AI free.
A digital version of the album is currently available. Physical formats such as vinyl and CD may be considered in the future, depending on audience interest. There are also plans to potentially produce guitar tablature for selected pieces.
Artistically, the music is intended to evoke a reflective, immersive listening experience. Rather than emphasising technical display, it aims for a more contemplative quality - encouraging listeners to engage deeply and gradually with the sound over the course of the evening.
