Step aboard The Golden Hinde for an atmospheric evening of theatre, mythology and music with Labyrinth of Mirrors, a one-act retelling of the Ancient Greek myth of the Minotaur and the Labyrinth of Knossos.
Inspired by the long poem The Minotaur by Swiss writer Friedrich Dürrenmatt, and accompanied by original music and songs, the production approaches the familiar myth from an altogether different perspective.
In Labyrinth of Mirrors, the story is told through the eyes of the Minotaur itself, following its voyage of self-discovery and self-realisation. From its tragic beginning to its hopeless end, the performance invites audiences to encounter the creature at the centre of the labyrinth not simply as a monster, but as the protagonist of its own story.
Blending theatre, mythology, music and storytelling, the production explores identity, isolation and self-awareness through a new perspective on one of the ancient world's most enduring myths.
Set within the atmospheric timber surroundings of The Golden Hinde, Labyrinth of Mirrors offers an intimate theatrical experience aboard one of London's most distinctive performance spaces.
