Step aboard The Golden Hinde for an intimate evening of live music with Kiiōtō, the collaboration between Mercury Music Prize-nominated singer-songwriter Lou Rhodes, former lead vocalist and co-founder of Lamb, and award-winning songwriter and pianist Rohan Heath.
Following their critically acclaimed 2024 debut As Dust We Rise, Kiiōtō return with their second album, Black Salt – a bold and deeply personal collection of songs spanning jazz, broken beat and soul, brought together by Heath's melodic sensibilities and Rhodes' unmistakable voice.
Across the album, the duo cast their net wide, exploring everything from modern relationships and the influence of social media to parenthood, heritage, loss and our place in the world. The arrangements remain spare and distinctive, drawing on influences as varied as Carole King, Khruangbin and Alice Coltrane.
Written primarily in Kiiōtō's North London home studio and released independently on their own label, Black Salt also features contributions from a host of musicians, including guitarist Hawi Gondwe, double-bassist Andy Hamill, drummer Mykey Wilson and composer and musician David Arnold.
