Golden Hinde, the reconstruction of Sir Francis Drake's 16th century ship, is looking for experienced shipwrights/boatbuilders/carpenters to join our refit team. The refit has been underway for 4 years and is progressing well.

The ship has her own drydock and fully equipped shipyard by London Bridge.

Golden Hinde is undoubtably one of the finest replicas. Built of oak and iroko by Hinks of Appledore using traditional methods , she was launched in 1973. After over 100,000 miles under sail including a circumnavigation and two more Atlantic crossings, her travelling days are over. Current safety regulations would require major alterations to the traditional and historical integrity of her build. Golden Hinde is probably the most travelled replica. We are offering full-time permanent positions. This is a unique opportunity for those interested in traditional boatbuilding to be part of an iconic project.
